A clean computer is a happy computer

Keeping your computer clean and free of dust is essential in ensuring the longevity of your device. Dust and other particles can accumulate in the air vents and cause overheating, leading to a decrease in performance over time.

To keep your computer clean, start by removing any disc drives or external components that are attached to your device such as an additional hard drive or monitor. Wipe these down with a damp cloth and allow them to dry before reattaching them.

Next, turn off your computer and unplug it from any power source. Get a clean, lint-free cloth and gently wipe away any dust on the exterior of the device. Use compressed air to blow out air vents located around the base or sides of your computer. Make sure not to spray compressed air too close directly into these holes as this may damage internal components. Wipe away any dirt you removed from these areas with an anti-static cleaning cloth to prevent dust from settling back in the vents.

Lastly, open up your computer’s case (if applicable) and use compressed air again to clean out all of its components such as fans, processors, heat sinks etc.. Be careful not to touch any exposed wiring or internal components with bare hands as this may damage them.

By taking these few simple steps regularly you can help keep your computer running smoothly for years to come!
